Guilt

Hammered dulcimer, 5 string fretless bass, electric guitar, warped turntable.

I binged on the Prelinger Archive vaults over a couple of months, watching dozens of archival films from 1917 to 1964, searching for images which I could use in Black Ambient music videos. I’ve done mash up stuff before, and though the form is well covered by many, the content is just fabulous. Its an artschool extravaganza!
Guilt is a bleak collage of images considering perceptions of mental health. I’ve got some disturbing footage here of schitzophrenic patients displaying catatonic symptoms, as well as some surreal educational film content, relating to stress. Our own mental health does come into question from time to time.
The title Guilt existed for the music already, and seemed to reflect my feelings regarding images such as these. I’m sure I’m not alone in that. But why guilt? Actually, is it guilt?

Number 5 of 7 in the Prelinger Archive mashup collection
